Having a baby should be a positive and empowering experience, which is why my primary focus as your birth doula is to create a safe and comfortable environment, whether you choose to give birth in a hospital, birthing center or at home. I will stay with you throughout labor and delivery providing physical and emotional support, help navigating decisions, and making sure not only you, but your birth partners feel supported as well. I also provide support the first couple of hours postpartum to ensure you are comfortable and that breast/chestfeeding is going well.

Postpartum and Newborn Care

My job as your birth doula doesn’t end once delivery is over. I will remain in close contact with you after your birth to provide any assistance you need through phone or email communication. I also offer postpartum doula services, some of which are included in your birth package or can be purchased separately for more long term support. During these visits, I can answer any questions you may have, provide resources in your community, provide a safe space for you to process your birth experience and, most importantly, ensure you feel nurtured and supported whether that be by whipping up a nourishing warm meal, helping with small household chores, running errands, etc. This allows you and your family to focus on what matters most, your newborn. Meet your doula: Elizabeth Harris

Welcome! I'm Liz (she/her). I live in Severn, Maryland with my husband, our children, and four cats. I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, attending concerts, reading, and hiking.

I am a certified birth doula and trained postpartum doula through DONA International, proudly serving the Baltimore, Annapolis, DMV, and Southern Maryland areas. My journey as a doula began after I became a mother, sparking a deep interest in all things related to pregnancy, birth, and breast/chest feeding. I believe many parents are lacking a supportive village, and I am dedicated to restoring that sense of community, one family at a time. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, I love sharing insights with everyone and continually learn and grow in this rewarding career through various trainings and interactions with my clients.

I have experience with various types of pregnancies and births, whether you are planning a home birth, a hospital birth, opting for an unmedicated birth, using an epidural, dealing with inductions, or navigating high-risk pregnancies (such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, or other health concerns). I also support families with multiples, LGBTQIA+ parents, polyamorous families, military families, single parents, and teen parents. My aim is to provide safe and welcoming care for all. I'm proud to share that my unplanned cesarean rate is less than 4%, with only two instances.

I believe every mother or birthing person deserves the support of a doula. If you are struggling to find ways to afford doula care, please reach out. I will work with you to find a solution, and if I cannot help, I will do my best to connect you with someone who can. Every expecting family deserves respect, compassion, and an advocate for their choices during this vulnerable yet empowering moment in their lives. They should feel prepared and EMPOWERED in childbirth and parenthood rather than fearful.

Standard Birth Package - $1800

1 Prenatal Interview; 2 (2 hours each) prenatal visits for pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding education, plus 1 virtual birth and postpartum planning session with a skilled birth doula. Enjoy phone and email support throughout your pregnancy, and on-call status starting 3 weeks before your due date until labor begins (sooner if high risk). You will receive continual support throughout labor and for 2 hours immediately postpartum, along with 1 (4 hour) postpartum visit. We are now offering a $30

Premium Birth & Postpartum Package - $2350

1 Prenatal Interview; 4 (2 hour) prenatal visits for pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding education with a knowledgeable birth doula; 1 virtual birth and postpartum planning session; Phone/Email support throughout your pregnancy; on-call status starting 3 weeks before your due date until labor begins (sooner if high risk); continual support throughout labor and 2 hours immediately postpartum with a caring postpartum doula. Enjoy 4 (4 hour each) postpartum visits tailored to your needs,

Virtual Birth Package - $1000

1 prenatal interview; 2 virtual prenatal visits for pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding education, along with 1 virtual birth and postpartum planning session. You'll receive phone and email support throughout your pregnancy. Our on-call status as your birth doula begins 3 weeks before your due date and continues until labor starts (or sooner if you are considered high risk). You will have intermittent call and virtual support during labor, followed by 1 in-person postpartum visit or a virtual se

Prenatal/Postpartum Doula Services - $35-50/hour

Minimum 4 hours. Ensure that mom or parents are well rested and nourished so they can better care for their newborn. A birth doula can assist with light housework and care for the baby or babies while mom or parents take time to stretch their legs, eat, shower, or nap. This support includes breastfeeding and chestfeeding assistance, along with suggestions on how to manage life with a newborn. Additionally, a postpartum doula can help with meal prep by providing nourishing meals for the postpartu

Home Birth Sibling Doula Support - $750

Sibling doulas provide essential support for your children during your labor and home birth. This ensures that they are well cared for while your birth partner focuses on supporting you. I will meet with you and your children twice prenatally to offer age-appropriate education about what happens during labor and delivery, addressing any questions you or they may have. During labor, I will ensure your children are fed, entertained, and engaged in the birthing process so you and your birth partner
